We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining consistent food standards, ensuring proper kitchen hygiene, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of Nigerian, continental, and other requested dishes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after service.
- Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Assist with stock-taking and communicate kitchen inventory needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Assist other kitchen staff when required.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, seasoning, marinating, and portioning.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Monitor food quality and report spoiled, damaged, or insufficient ingredients.
- Ensure meals are properly cooked, well-presented, tasty, and served at the appropriate temperature.
- Minimize food wastage through proper preparation, storage, and portion control.
- Prepare and cook meals according to the establishment's recipes, standards, and portion requirements.
- Measure and use ingredients accurately to maintain consistency and control food costs.
- Assist with menu preparation and suggest new dishes where appropriate.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of prepared and raw food items.
- Properly store food items and ensure appropriate food-handling procedures are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness of cooking equipment, utensils, work surfaces, refrigerators, and storage areas.
- Work closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure orders are prepared and served promptly.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Head Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, or Management
