We are recruiting to fill the position below:

General objective
To operate, monitor, and maintain the grain extrusion process to ensure the consistent production of high-quality extruded products that meet production targets, food safety requirements, and quality standards while minimizing downtime and material wastage.
Responsibilities
- and Tasks
- Dryer, Cooler & Grinder Operations:
- Adjust dryer temperatures, airflow, and moisture targets.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Prepare and verify raw materials before production.
- Ensure cooler efficiency and correct product temperatures.
- Prevent bottlenecks and ensure smooth downstream flow
- Operate grinders/screens and maintain required particle sizes.
- Operate the grain extrusion line according to approved operating procedures
- Coordinate with the Extrusion Controller on upstream changes.
- Compliance with Quality Standards:
- Carry out visual inspections throughout the process.
- Follow ISO and HACCP guidelines in your section.
- Escalate quality deviations quickly.
- Perform moisture, density, temperature, and particle size checks.
- Ensure the extruded product meets the required quality specifications.
- Safety & Housekeeping:
- Report mechanical or electrical issues immediately.
- Keep your area clean, organised, and dust-free.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Always use PPE and follow safety procedures.
- Apply safe start-up, shutdown, and lock-out practices.
- Communication & Teamwork:
- Support packing staff to maintain smooth operations.
- Provide clear handovers for the next shift
- Inform the Extrusion Controller about deviations.
Requirements
Education
degree – Minimum of OND in Mechanical/Industrial/Food Processing technology, or equivalent technical qualification
Language skills – English.
Computer skills – MS Word, MS Excel & Outlook
Work
Experience
– 1 – 2 years'
operating food processing or extrusion equipment. Technical or vocational training in machine operation is an added advantage.
Other required skills:
Monitor critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, moisture, feed rate, screw speed, and product density.
HMI operating system
Ability to adjust process settings to control product outcomes.
Operate the grain extrusion line according to approved operating procedures.
Troubleshooting of downstream issues.
