Job Title: Facility Manager (Solar Mini-Grid)
Location: Kogi
Job type: Full-time
Job Purpose
The role involves coordinating daily operations, preventive and corrective maintenance, HSE, security, asset management, technical teams, community relations, energy performance, customer-service support and operational reporting to ensure high system availability. reliable electricity supply and effective facility management.
The Facility Manager (Solar Mini-Grid) is responsible for the overall safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable operation of the solar mini-grid facility and associated infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure site operations comply with applicable regulatory, safety and environmental requirements.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor daily energy generation and consumption.
- Monitor the operational condition of customer meters.
- Track asset condition, maintenance history and replacement requirements.
- Maintain positive relationships with community leaders and residents.
- Support investigation of meter faults, bypasses and suspected tampering.
- Maintain required operational and compliance records.
- Oversee security of the mini-grid site and associated infrastructure.
- Track battery SOC, charging/discharging and operating conditions.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Manage and supervise daily operation of the solar mini-grid.
- Prepare duty/shift schedules and allocate daily tasks.
- Monitor and report theft, vandalism, unauthorized access and other security incidents.
- Supervise site technicians, operators, cleaners, security personnel and other facility staff.
- Monitor PV generation, battery storage, inverters, MPPTs and distribution systems.
- Support resolution of community-related operational issues.
- Coordinate corrective maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Manage tools, consumables and critical spare parts.
- Monitor abnormal consumption patterns.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain an accurate register of all mini-grid and facility assets.
Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree/HND in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Physics/Applied Physics or related technical discipline
- Professional Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in:
- Solar PV/ Renewable Energy Facility Management
- First Aid/CPR
- Fire Safety
- HSE
- Electrical Safety
- Project Management would be an advantage.
Experience
3-5 years' relevant experience in facility management, electrical infrastructure, renewable energy, power systems, industrial maintenance or related operations.
