Job Title: Hatchery Officer
Location: Awe, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The Hatchery Officer will support hatchery operations by ensuring proper egg handling, incubation, hatching, chick processing, and adherence to biosecurity and quality standards to achieve optimal hatchability and chick quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain hatchery hygiene and biosecurity standards.
- Monitor incubation and hatching processes.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of fertile eggs.
- Identify and report operational or equipment issues promptly.
- Monitor temperature, humidity, and ventilation systems.
- Assist in chick processing, vaccination, and dispatch activities.
- Record daily hatchery data and prepare reports.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Good record-keeping and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and in shifts when required.
- Basic understanding of hatchery equipment and incubation processes.
- HND/B.Sc Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Technology, or related fields
- 3 years’ experience in hatchery or poultry operations.
