Job Summary

The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, prudent cash management, compliance with applicable financial and tax regulations, and the timely provision of financial information to Management for decision-making.

The role will oversee budgeting, financial planning and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, cash flow management, reconciliations, management reporting, statutory compliance, audit coordination, and financial controls. The Finance Manager will also support Management in monitoring financial performance, controlling costs, identifying financial risks, and improving the overall financial efficiency of the organization.

Duties and

in accounting and finance, preferably within a structured corporate, Oil & Gas, Marine, Engineering, or related environment.

Demonstrable

in financial management, management reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, financial controls, and financial analysis.

Strong

in preparing and interpreting management accounts and financial statements.

Practical knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations, statutory financial requirements, and applicable accounting standards.

coordinating internal and external audits and liaising with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.

in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost control, and financial planning.

Strong knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel;

with ERP/accounting software will be an advantage.

Demonstrable

in supervising and managing finance and accounting personnel.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations and reconciliation of relevant general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
  • Monitor banking activities, transfers, collections, payments, and other financial transactions.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and filing of accounting records, financial documents, invoices, receipts, and supporting schedules.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of statutory financial and tax returns in line with applicable requirements.
  • Liaise with tax consultants, external auditors, banks, regulators, and other financial advisers as required.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure timely provision of requested financial information and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor audit findings and coordinate the implementation of agreed corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and financial procedures.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to Management on business decisions, investments, cost management, and financial risks.
  • Support Management in evaluating the financial implications of contracts, projects, business opportunities, and major expenditures.
  • Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improved financial efficiency.
  • Review financial processes and recommend improvements to strengthen controls, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Support procurement and other departments in financial evaluations, vendor payments, pricing reviews, and commercial assessments where required.
  • Monitor fixed assets, company assets, depreciation schedules, and related financial records.
  • Ensure proper segregation of duties and adherence to approved financial authority limits.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of financial information and sensitive company records.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to Finance & Accounts team members and support their professional development.
