Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Purpose
To lead and manage all financial operations of the automotive business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, cost control, and strategic financial planning to support business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Control:
- Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/GAAP.
- Ensure integrity of all financial data and enforce internal controls.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Monitor budget performance, analyse variances, and provide management with actionable insights.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic re-forecasting.
- Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and working capital to ensure liquidity.
- Oversee Letters of Credit (LCs), forex procurement, and vehicle import financing.
- Compliance & Audit:
- Ensure full compliance with FIRS tax obligations (VAT, WHT, CIT, Transfer Pricing).
- Maintain compliance with CAC, CBN, and other regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate external and internal audits; implement audit recommendations promptly.
- Cost Management:
- Monitor cost of sales, parts inventory valuation, and after-sales costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities across the business.
- Team Leadership:
- Drive a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise and develop the finance team across all business units.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years' experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax law and IFRS.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA (mandatory).
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or FMCG strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
