We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Fleet Support Officer
Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Job Summary
We are looking for a Fleet Support Officer to join our team and support the effective monitoring and management of our fleet operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for real-time truck tracking, journey monitoring, driver support, safety compliance, reporting, and timely escalation of operational issues to ensure efficient deliveries and smooth fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and escalate safety violations, including overspeeding and Blue Key alerts, in real time.
- Allocate trucks for approved PKS and LH raw material backhaul operations.
- Escalate GPS and tracking device issues for prompt troubleshooting and resolution.
- Perform other fleet-related duties as assigned by the Fleet Support Supervisor/Manager.
- Support drivers by resolving operational concerns and conflicts as required.
- Conduct daily confirmation of delivery officers against assigned trucks.
- Liaise with customers, taskforce vendors and relevant stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
- Follow up on delayed trips, diversions, HBD-related issues and other operational exceptions.
- Send POD waybills and codes for trip closure.
- Support incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation.
- Monitor and track assigned trucks daily and provide regular updates on trip positions and journey status.
- Prepare and reconcile fleet visibility, OTD (On-Time Delivery) and journey reports to ensure data accuracy.
- Reconcile truck diversions, AGO retrievals and approval requests.
- Liaise with maintenance teams regarding inbound truck issues.
- Confirm offloaded quantities and caked cement records using POD documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively with drivers, customers, vendors and internal teams.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications.
- Good knowledge of fleet tracking and journey management systems.
- Previous experience in fleet operations, logistics, transport management or a related role is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational issues.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong monitoring, reporting and data reconciliation skills.
