About the Role
You will create and test prototype recipes, apply our specialty flavor and chemical formulations directly into finished baked goods, enforce strict QC safety standards, and collaborate with internal production teams to scale up successful bench recipes to industrial manufacturing levels.
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Food Technologist QC / Application with deep hands-on expertise in baking, formulation, and quality control.
In this role, you will bridge laboratory research with real-world bakery and food applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor food processing activities to ensure strict adherence to internal quality guidelines, regulatory requirements, NAFDAC standards, and hygiene/safety policies.
- Conduct daily laboratory tests, analyze outcomes, accurately document findings, and submit clear technical reports to management.
- Collect, classify, and prepare raw material and finished product samples for stability, shelf life, sensory, and nutritional evaluation.
- Stay up to date with modern food science trends, bakery techniques, packaging innovations, and accurate labeling compliance regulations.
- Carry out routine laboratory administrative duties, including sample logging, record filing, inventory tracking, and operational correspondence.
- Bake bread, cakes, pastries, and other bakery application trial runs independently without supervision to test ingredient performance.
- Keep the application lab, testing equipment, and work areas thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and sterilized in line with health and safety regulations.
- Work directly with internal production teams to smoothly transfer small-scale laboratory recipes into full industrial-level manufacturing processes.
- Create new food formulations, evaluate trial prototypes, and refine existing recipes for superior taste, texture, nutritional profile, and cost-efficiency.

- Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail for diagnosing formulation issues and sensory differences.

Experience
Salary: N150,000 - N250,000 monthly.
and proficiency in baking bread, cakes, and other flour confectionery products without supervision.
A minimum of 2 years and above in food application, baking tech, quality control, or product development within the food ingredient or FMCG industry.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings to management and collaborating across internal departments.
Thorough understanding of food hygiene standards, lab safety protocols, and health and safety policies.
OND, HND, or BSc Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
