Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking executive to lead the transition and growth of our Microfinance Bank (MFB) into a full-scale digital financial service provider.
The Head of Fintech will own the strategic direction, product roadmap, digital transformation, and market expansion of our upcoming fintech unit.
This role requires a proven leader who can bridge traditional MFB operations with scalable digital lending, payments, agency banking, and mobile financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Digital Transformation:
- Drive the digital expansion strategy, moving core banking operations toward tech-enabled financial services.
- Align digital initiatives with regulatory requirements, ensuring seamless collaboration with compliance and risk management.
- Define and execute the product vision for mobile banking, digital lending, USSD channels, and agency banking networks.
- Product Development & Innovation:
- Partner with engineering, UI/UX, and data teams to deliver user-centric financial products.
- Identify strategic partnerships with payment gateways, API aggregators, credit bureaus, and telecom providers.
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from market research and prototyping to launch and optimization.
- Business Growth & Financial Performance:
- Analyze transaction data and customer feedback to iterate on unit economics and operational metrics.
- Design growth, retention, and referral strategies to scale active digital wallet and loan users.
- Take full P&L accountability for the Fintech division, setting performance metrics for customer acquisition, transaction volumes, and revenue.
- Operations, Risk & Technology Oversight:
- Establish automated risk scoring, digital KYC/AML protocols, and collection strategies for digital loan portfolios.
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing product, digital marketing, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with CTO/IT leads to ensure robust infrastructure, uptime, and cybersecurity standards.
- Key Requirements & Qualifications
- 8+ years in financial services, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within a Fintech, Digital Bank, or tech-enabled MFB.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Computer Science, Economics, or related fields. Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Domain Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of digital lending algorithms, payment rails, agency banking, card issuing, and core banking integrations (CBS).
- Strong knowledge of Central Bank MFB regulations, data privacy laws, and digital compliance standards.
- Regulatory Acumen
Salary: N700,000 Monthly.
