The Group Accountant will oversee accounting activities across multiple business units, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, regulatory compliance and timely consolidation of financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Review bank, supplier, customer and intercompany reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash-flow activities.
- Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of transactions across business units.
- Prepare management accounts and financial performance reports.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
- Coordinate statutory tax filings and other regulatory obligations.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Monitor intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
- Supervise and provide guidance to accounting personnel across the group.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- ICAN, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly desirable.
- 5–7 years’ progressive accounting experience, preferably within a group or multi-business environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation and accounting standards.
Experience
preparing consolidated management accounts.
Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership and supervisory ability.
High level of integrity and attention to detail.
N700,000 monthly.
