- The safety officer is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring workplace safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.

- Develop, review and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify unsafe conditions, equipment, or practices.

- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and deliver safety training and induction programs for staff and contractors.
- Support emergency preparedness planning, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate safety records, incident logs and compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health and safety laws and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the use and maintenance of PPE
- Liaise with regulatory bodies inspections or audit processes.
