Job Title: Human Resources
Location: Abuja (FCT) and Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. The role assists with recruitment, employee records, onboarding, attendance, staff communication, and other HR activities while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the onboarding and orientation of new employees.
- Support disciplinary, grievance, and employee-relations processes as required.
- Assist with payroll preparation by providing accurate employee information and attendance records.
- Respond to employees’ HR-related questions and direct complex issues to the appropriate HR personnel.
- Ensure HR files and employee information are handled securely and confidentially.
- Prepare regular HR reports and maintain proper documentation.
- Assist with implementation and communication of company HR policies and procedures.
- Support performance management and employee engagement activities.
- Assist with recruitment activities, including posting vacancies, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Perform other administrative and HR duties assigned by the HR Manager or management.
- Monitor employee attendance, leave, and other staff-related records.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
- Assist in organizing staff training, meetings, and company events.
- Prepare HR documents, letters, contracts, reports, and other correspondence.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in an HR or administrative role is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Good knowledge of HR practices and employment procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at different levels of the organization.
