We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Lagos
Role Description
Day-to-day tasks include partnering with practice heads on workforce planning, managing compensation and benefits administration, coordinating training and development programs, and handling employee relations matters in a fair and consistent manner.
The role will also support change management initiatives, promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, and contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes aligned with the firm’s growth objectives.
The Human Resources Manager will develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws, and maintain accurate HR records and reporting.
The Human Resources Manager will oversee the full spectrum of HR activities to support ALP NG & Co’s people strategy and organizational culture. This full-time, on-site role is based in Lagos and includes responsibility for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.
Job Responsibilities
Policy Management: Develop, implement, and manage HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
Learning and Development: Create and manage frameworks for leadership development, career progression, and continuous learning.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies. Manage employee relations and resolve complex HR issues effectively
Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for HR functions.
Culture & Engagement: Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture. Design and implement employee engagement programs and feedback mechanisms.
HR Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive People & Culture strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Leadership: Provide guidance and support to HR team members and other managers.
Compensation and Benefits: Oversee compensation structures, benefits programs and HR systems to ensure efficiency and fairness.
Talent Management: Develop and manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent. Implement performance management systems that drive accountability and growth. Competency mapping.
Performance Management: Administer performance appraisal systems and ensure regular feedback and development plans for employees.
HR Metrics: Monitor and report on HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in HR policy development, compliance with Nigerian labor laws, and HR documentation and reporting.
- Prior experience as an HR Manager or senior HR generalist, ideally in professional services, legal, or consulting environments.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, support change management, and drive employee engagement initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience in core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Law, Business Administration, or a related field; professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM) is required
- Experience with compensation and benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HR data management using HRIS tools.
- Proficiency in developing and delivering training, managing career development programs, and supporting organizational learning.
Experience
8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a senior role.
