We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: HVAC Technician
Location: Victoria Island, Marina - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Operate VRV/VRF, AHU, Chillers, and FCU systems.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the HVAC supervisor,facilities manager, or engineer-in-charge.
- Report to duty for shift briefings and task assignments.
- Perform planned preventive maintenance PPM) tasks – cleaning, tightening connections, thermal scanning, lubrication, filter changes, etc.
- Participate in daily toolbox meetings.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition; notify supervisor of material shortages.
- Support general facility maintenanceactivities when required.
- maintenance in HVAC systems.
- Update work logs, maintenance records, and defect reports in SMART CHECK or other systems.
- Follow all safety procedures – use of PPE, lockout/tag out (LOTO), and permit-to-work systems.
- HVAC equipment rooms; report abnormalities immediately.
- Carry out preventive and corrective
- Troubleshoot simple circuit failures, reset breakers, and replace faulty components.
- Assist in supervising contractor work onsite (e.g., witnessing tests, ensuring site safety).
- Respond to HVAC system faults, tenant complaints, and emergency breakdowns (including after-hours call-outs as rostered).
- Escalate complex or high-voltages issues to the HVAC supervisor.
- Must be willing to work day and nightshifts, Sundays as per duty schedule, and public holidays.
- Conduct daily walk-through inspections of
- Maintain ventilation and Exhaust fans.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of all HVACpanels (cleanliness, no obstructions, proper labeling, pest control,etc.).
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of practical experience in a commercial, high-rise, or industrial facility
- Professional Qualification: Any of the following is an additional advantage,Basic first aid/ CPR
- Educational Qualification: Trade Test certificate (Grade I, II, or III),national Diploma (ND) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. Completed technical apprenticeship/ Vocational training.
- Skills and Competencies:
- weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic computer literacy – able to log tasks in SMART CHECK or mobile app.
- Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts,
- Team player, follows instructions, works safely under pressure.
- Clear communication – able to report issues verbally and in writing.
- Hands-on knowledge ofHVAC systems: Split unit ACs, Chillers, AHUs, VRV/VRF, etc.
