AMA Medical Manufacturing is a Nigerian pharmaceutical manufacturer based at Kudenda Industrial Layout, Kaduna, producing sterile IV fluids at a NAFDAC-licensed facility designed and validated to WHO GMP standards. We employ around 95 people and run the business on Zoho cloud tools and Excel systems.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: IT & Systems Officer
Location: Kaduna
Job type: Full-time (Onsite)
The Role
This is our first dedicated IT hire. You will own all of IT at the factory: the network, the devices, the user accounts, the cloud tools and day-to-day support across shifts. You will build the function from scratch and report to the Director of Finance & Strategy.
What you will do
Set up, secure and maintain all laptops, desktops, printers, CCTV and attendance devices, with UPS protection against power interruptions
Run internet, Wi-Fi and the local network across the factory, offices and warehouse, including ISP management and failover
Build and maintain the IT asset register from zero
Support the company’s Excel-based operational tools with version control, backups and access control
Scope small IT projects, manage vendors and advise management on what to buy
Put in place basic cybersecurity (two-factor, password policy, encryption, backups) and simple IT policies
Keep Zoom reliable for the weekly meeting cycle with directors abroad
Administer Zoho Mail, WorkDrive and Books: mailboxes, folder permissions, user roles, onboarding and offboarding
Requirements
- What we are looking for:
- Clear English, able to explain a fix to a non-technical manager
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Kaduna
- Strong practical networking: routers, switches, access points, cabling and Wi-Fi troubleshooting on a large site
- HND or BSc in Computer Science, IT or a related field; NYSC completed
- A self-starter who can be the only IT person on site and documents what they build
- One to three years’ hands-on IT support or systems administration, ideally in a factory or other operational site
- Solid Windows administration and experience running a cloud suite (Zoho, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365)
- Advanced Excel
- Useful but not essential:
- Zoho experience
- Hausa language skills
- Exposure to industrial equipment and control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA), or to connecting production equipment to the network for data logging
- CompTIA, Google IT Support, Microsoft or Cisco certification
- Basic scripting; exposure to ERP or GMP data integrity
