Job Title: Junior Accountant
Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
The Junior Accountant will support the Finance & Accounts function in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and performing reconciliations.
Key Accountabilities
- Support month-end/year-end closing, management reporting, variance analysis, payroll reconciliation, and preparation of financial schedules.
- Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions, including invoices, receipts, journals, expenses, receivables, payables, assets, and liabilities.
- Assist with tax and regulatory compliance, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, pension, and maintaining supporting documentation.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices, customer balances, payment schedules, and account reconciliations.
- Perform regular bank, payment gateway, wallet, POS, merchant, and digital transaction reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and outstanding items.
- Monitor and reconcile high-volume fintech transactions, including fees, commissions, refunds, settlements, third-party funds, and potential revenue leakages.
Requirements
Good knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
Experience in fintech, technology, e-commerce, digital platforms, payment services, or a similar environment is an advantage.
Proficiency in accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills, with the ability to analyse large volumes of transactions.
Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or equivalent is an advantage.
Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years’ relevant accounting experience.
Salary: N200,000 - N350,000 Net Monthly.
