We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Junior Civil Engineer
Location: Lekki, Ikoyi and Banana Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained on site.
- Support material inspections and quality-control activities.
- Assist Senior Engineers and Project Managers with the supervision of daily construction activities.
- Assist with preparation of daily and weekly site reports.
- Assist in monitoring manpower, materials, equipment, and other resources.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the Senior Engineer, Project Manager, or Management.
- Monitor concrete, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, foundation, drainage, and other civil/structural works.
- Identify and report construction defects, deviations, delays, and other site issues.
- Assist in coordinating artisans, foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and other site personnel.
- Monitor the quality and progress of ongoing works.
- Assist with setting out, measurements, inspections, and verification of construction works.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Requirements
- B.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Good knowledge of concrete, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, and general building construction.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- 2–4 years' relevant construction/site experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work on active construction sites in Lagos.
- Good understanding of building construction and civil engineering principles.
