We are looking to hire a Microbiologist who will be responsible for conducting microbiological analyses, supporting laboratory operations, and ensuring compliance with established quality and regulatory standards.
The role will involve sample analysis, microbial testing, accurate documentation of laboratory activities, and adherence to Good Laboratory Practices and relevant safety procedures.
The position is critical to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results, supporting quality assurance, and contributing to the achievement of the company’s operational and quality objectives.
Job Description
- Give recommendations and possible solutions for improvements
- Ensure good documentation and housekeeping practices
- Ensure that procedures are validated/verified prior to use
- Any other activity as directed by the Technical Manager /Head of Lab
- Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated
- Participating in audit activities
- Maintaining the impartiality and confidentiality policies in the laboratory
- Carry out the isolation, identification and enumeration of microorganisms found in environmental samples, food, drugs, chemical and Agro-allied samples
- Carrying out environmental monitoring
- Participating in risk assessment, review and implementation
- Prepare culture samples of bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms for analysis
- Working in accordance with ISO 17025:2017 laboratory guidelines
- Preparation of work instructions, standard operating procedures and other related documents
- Strict adherence to good laboratory practice guidelines in microbiology laboratory
- Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum of Second Class Upper) in Microbiology.
- Working Experience:
- Entry Level: Minimun of 1 - 2 years of experience in laboratory processes.
- A laboratory environment (Analyst or Laboratory Technologist)
Knowledge and Skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset
- Good laboratory practice guidelines in microbiology laboratory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness and ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
