We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title:
Laboratory Analyst
Location: Warri, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: Laboratory Operations
Reports To: Laboratory Director
Industry: Environmental Testing / Analytical Laboratory Services
Key Responsibilities
- Analysis on environmental samples (water, gases, sediments and soils.) This involves:
- Conducting tests: Using a range of lab instruments to perform chemical, biochemical, physical, and biological analyses.
- Maintaining equipment: Calibrating and maintaining laboratory instruments.
- Method development: Developing and implementing new analytical methods when needed.
- Record keeping: Accurately recording and managing data, often using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Ensuring quality: Following strict quality assurance and safety protocols, including maintaining a legal chain of custody for samples.
- Sample collection: Occasionally collecting environmental samples in the field.
Qualifications
Education: A minimum of a BSc, HND, or ND in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Science Laboratory Technology.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in quantitative laboratory analysis and safety practices.
- Ability to accurately record and interpret data.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
