We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lead, Credit & Risk Control

Location: Lagos Mainland, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

External: Customers, Regulatory bodies

Job Purpose

Maintain effective asset inspection and control

Drive proactive portfolio risk monitoring

Strengthen recovery performance and minimize credit losses

Ensure disciplined and risk-aligned credit approvals

Control the company’s leased asset base

Safeguard the company’s capital

Key Output:

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating recovery and workout strategies for non-performing leases
  • Carry-out due diligence of all lease customers, and monitor portfolios for early risk detection by:
  • Ensure high-quality credit risk assessment & recommendation by:
  • Ensure disciplined workflow management within the credit function by:
  • Verifying business existence and operational capacity.
  • Implementing structured post-disbursement review frameworks
  • Reviewing all credit appraisal reports before submission to management.
  • Reviewing and updating policies in response to portfolio trends and market dynamics.
  • Ensuring all new clients complete KYC documentation before approval.
  • Strengthen credit risk monitoring and remediation processes by:
  • Ensuring full financial analysis, risk identification, and mitigation documentation
  • Rejecting or restructuring high-risk proposals where required
  • Conducting or supervising pre-disbursement site visits.
  • Conducting routine client visitation and asset inspection
  • Validating collateral ownership and asset authenticity.
  • Supervising periodic credit reviews prior to expiry dates
  • Enforcing adherence to the credit policy before disbursement
  • Chairing or participating in Credit Committee deliberations.
  • Embedding risk appetite parameters into credit assessment processes
  • Recommending restructuring or enforcement actions and repossession where necessary.
  • Escalating high-risk exposures to management
  • Maintaining comprehensive credit risk policies aligned to leasing operations
  • Any other results/responsibilities/duties/tasks/job roles that may be assigned to you by management.

Requirements

  • Education:
  • An MBA/Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • HND/Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or any related discipline

Experience

7-12 years of relevant experience.
