The Role
As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the growth and quality of Mivale's loan portfolio by identifying prospective customers, assessing creditworthiness, processing loan applications, monitoring active accounts and driving timely repayments.
This role is ideal for someone who is commercially driven, analytical, customer-focused and highly accountable, with the ability to build relationships while maintaining sound credit and risk discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain strong relationships with borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle.
- Conduct preliminary credit assessments in line with Mivale's lending policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Credit, Operations, Collections and other relevant teams to improve portfolio performance.
- Conduct responsible and professional collections activities.
- Escalate delinquent accounts, suspicious activities and material risks promptly.
- Process loan applications accurately and within agreed turnaround times.
- Work towards assigned portfolio, disbursement, repayment and recovery targets.
- Ensure strict adherence to Mivale's policies, procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify trends, customer concerns and potential risks and communicate them to management.
- Monitor assigned loan accounts and proactively follow up on upcoming and overdue repayments.
- Prepare and maintain accurate portfolio reports.
- Engage customers, understand their financial needs and provide appropriate loan solutions.
- Collect and verify customer information and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and loan records.
- Identify and acquire qualified prospective borrowers through approved channels.
- What We're Looking For
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
- Good understanding of credit assessment and loan processes.
- Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and priorities.
- High level of integrity, discretion and financial responsibility.
- Target-driven and comfortable working in a performance-oriented environment.
- Good numerical and analytical ability.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with loan management or CRM systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
- Bachelor's Degree / HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field with 1 – 3 years'
Experience
in lending, microfinance, fintech, banking, credit, collections or a related financial-services environment.
