Job Summary
The role requires strong planning, coordination, problem-solving, and fleet management capabilities.
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the company's transportation and logistics activities, ensuring efficient movement of vehicles, passengers, materials, and operational resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics & Fleet Operations:
- Monitor vehicle maintenance requirements and escalate issues promptly.
- Plan and coordinate daily logistics and transportation activities.
- Monitor vehicle deployment, movement, availability, and utilization.
- Coordinate drivers and ensure adherence to approved schedules and routes.
- Operational Planning:
- Coordinate resources required for smooth transportation operations.
- Identify and resolve delays, route challenges, and operational disruptions.
- Develop efficient logistics plans and schedules.
- Ensure efficient utilization of vehicles and other operational resources.
- Driver & Team Management:
- Monitor driver performance, attendance, compliance, and conduct.
- Support training and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure drivers adhere to safety and operational procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate drivers and logistics personnel.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, delays, and operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with company transportation, safety, and operational policies.
- Monitor vehicle documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and mitigate logistics-related risks.
- Reporting & Cost Control:
- Maintain accurate logistics and fleet records.
- Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for efficiency.
- Track key logistics performance indicators and recommend improvements.
- Prepare regular operational reports for Management.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Support resolution of customer and operational issues affecting transportation services.
- Coordinate with Management to ensure effective service delivery.
- Work closely with Terminal Managers, drivers, vendors, and other operational stakeholders.
Requirements
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Proven ability to manage drivers, vehicles, schedules, and operational resources.
Ability to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive operations.
4–5 years relevant experience in logistics, transportation, fleet, or operations management.
Bachelor's Degree / HND in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Candidates resident in Warri, Delta State are preferred.
Male candidates are preferred based on the current operational requirements of the role.
Strong knowledge of transportation and fleet operations.
