We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Reporting to: Logistics and Supply Chain Manager
Proposed start date: October 2026
Job Summary
Key areas of responsibility include the fleet management, maintenance, facilities management and other logistics operations to ensure effective and efficient programme delivery.
The Logistics Officer will provide logistics support to the programmes and oversee the day to day logistics activities of the base.
We are currently recruiting a Logistics Officer based in Sokoto.
Key Responsibilities
- Mission 1: Provide logistics support to the base programs:
- Support programs during the distributions;
- Prepare and supervise construction/rehabilitation work in the field;
- Provide technical support to Programme Managers (PMs) in the development of the terms of reference;
- Support requesters in the development of their purchase requests and stock release orders;
- Support programs in their various technical logistics activities, as needed.
- Monitor requests with the supply team;
- Supervise the production of kits;
- Mission 2: Ensure the proper functioning of the base's fleet:
- Develop vehicle schedules based on program needs;
- Ensure communication with the base staff on planned maintenance and inherent malfunctions.
- Prepare the planning of the drivers under his responsibility according to the number of vehicles to be covered, and update this planning according to the evolution of the requests or the constraints;
- Prepare (administrative documents and loading) the vehicle's movements off base;
- Mission 3: Ensure the maintenance and follow-up of the facilities
- Report the needs for furniture/small equipment;
- Ensure the supply of water and energy to all facilities required for the operation of the base and the living environment;
- Report on the need for major rehabilitation;
- Supervise small repairs / rehabilitations;
- Monitor the contract's management of facilities.
- Ensure that the condition of the facilities is checked at regular intervals;
- Mission 4: Manage the ICT resources of the base (in case there is no ICT Officer in the Base Office):
- Ensure compliance with ICT standards on computers;
- Solve common user problems;
- Supervise the data backup system (backup policy).
- Mission 5: Supervise the logistics team of the base:
- Manage the recruitment for the base logistics department;
- Conducting the yearly evaluation interviews;
- Provide technical support to the team as needed.
- Contribute to the development of the training plan;
- Organize the work of the base logistics department;
- Mission 6: Reporting:
- Contract Follow-up
- Produce a complete monthly logistics report

- Stock Follow-up.

- This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership, team management, training, and capacity-building skills.
- Relevant professional certification, such as CIPS or CILT, is an added advantage.
- A Master’s Degree is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and perform effectively under pressure, including in challenging or insecure environments.
- Good command of English and Hausa, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, or a related field.
- High level of integrity, accountability, flexibility, resilience, and transparency.
- Minimum of 2 years of
Experience
in logistics management, preferably in a humanitarian, development, or I/NGO setting.
Excellent organizational, analytical, reporting, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with strong attention to detail.
