Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Male Chef to manage food preparation and kitchen operations for employees and guests within an automobile manufacturing company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing hygienic, nutritious, and well-presented meals while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and kitchen safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.
- Plan daily meals and assist with menu development.
- Coordinate with kitchen assistants and other support staff.
- Maintain accurate records of food supplies and kitchen inventory.
- Manage kitchen ingredients, supplies, and stock levels.
- Prepare meals for employees, management, and company guests when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, and work areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and promptly report faults or maintenance needs.
- Monitor food portions and minimize wastage.
- Ensure food is prepared and served on schedule.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation.
- Prepare and cook a variety of local and continental meals according to required menus.
- Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to manage food supplies, portions, and kitchen inventory.
- Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation.
- Good knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe operating practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet meal schedules.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a corporate, industrial, hotel, or similar environment.
- Good communication skills, reliability, discipline, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare meals for a large number of people.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian and continental cuisine.
- Basic practical knowledge of engineering and safe operation of kitchen equipment is required.
- Certificate or qualification in Catering, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is an advantage.
