We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Mechanical Hydrotesting Technician / Lead III
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Job Purpose
To perform and supervise hydrotesting activities on piping, vessels, equipment and associated systems in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and check test pumps, hoses, manifolds, gauges, blinds and other test equipment.
- Prepare equipment and piping systems for hydrotesting.
- Inspect test boundaries and verify test packs before testing.
- Follow PTW, JSA/JHA and applicable HSE requirements.
- Verify test pressure and test duration against approved requirements.
- Conduct hydrostatic pressure tests in accordance with approved procedures.
- Support flushing and cleaning activities where required.
- Carry out draining, depressurisation and reinstatement after testing.
- Ensure test equipment is properly calibrated and fit for use.
- Monitor pressure during testing and identify leaks or abnormal conditions.
- Maintain hydrotest records and test documentation.
- Lead Responsibilities
- The Lead additionally:
- Reviews test packs and work requirements.
- Coordinates with QA/QC, construction and commissioning teams.
- Reports test progress and outstanding issues.
- Supervises hydrotesting crews.
- Ensures work is completed safely and according to schedule.
- Coordinates daily hydrotesting activities.
Requirements
- Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Any candidates who apply without this experience will have their CVs rejected immediately.
- Relevant oil & gas/site experience.
- Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Relevant hydrotesting experience.
- Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics and test packs.
- Knowledge of piping systems and pressure testing.
- Knowledge of pressure testing safety requirements.
