Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with common acute illnesses.
- Provide paediatric urgent care for conditions such as fever, respiratory infections, asthma exacerbations, gastrointestinal illnesses and dehydration.
- Recognise critically ill patients and initiate appropriate stabilisation and referral.
- Perform clinical procedures within demonstrated competence and facility capabilities.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic investigations.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers.
- Collaborate with nursing and other clinical staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Follow established clinical protocols and patient-safety standards.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and a valid practising licence.
- Completion of housemanship.
- Relevant post-housemanship clinical experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and emergency recognition skills.
- Excellent communication, documentation and teamwork skills.
