We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Merchant Business Manager
Location: Lagos
Job type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to expand merchant deposits, lending, and other banking services.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, risk policies, and operational guidelines.
- Drive merchant lending solutions while maintaining sound credit risk management and portfolio quality.
- Monitor business performance against targets, including merchant acquisition, deposits, loans, POS usage, and profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive merchant banking growth, deposits, and loan disbursements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve digital banking, payment gateway services, and transaction management solutions.
- Develop initiatives to increase merchant engagement, transaction volumes, and product adoption.
- Drive merchant account growth, POS terminal deployment, and active usage of payment solutions.
- Lead the acquisition of SMEs and medium-sized businesses, expanding the bank’s merchant customer base.
Requirements
- Proven ability to drive business development, merchant acquisition, deposit mobilisation, and loan growth.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage business performance against targets.
- Excellent leadership, relationship management, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in merchant banking, SME banking, or payment processing, with at least five years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of merchant banking products, digital payment solutions, and credit risk management.
