The Personal Assistant to the COO (Accountant) will provide high-level administrative, financial and analytical support to the Chief Operating Officer.
The role requires an individual with a strong accounting background who can support the COO in reviewing financial information, tracking operational expenditure, preparing reports and coordinating day-to-day executive activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative and accounting support to the COO.
- Prepare, review and organize financial reports, expense schedules, reconciliations and other financial documentation.
- Monitor budgets, expenditure, payment requests and financial commitments as assigned.
- Assist with financial analysis and preparation of management reports.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate the COO’s meetings, appointments, correspondence and follow-up actions.
- Prepare presentations, reports, spreadsheets and briefing documents.
- Liaise with the Finance/Accounts department and other business units on behalf of the COO.
- Track assigned operational and financial deliverables and ensure timely follow-up.
- Handle confidential financial and executive information with discretion.
- Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the COO.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ relevant
Experience
in accounting, finance, executive support or a similar role.
Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ICAN/ACCA will be an advantage.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality and organizational ability.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to travel.
