Ereyi Ventures Nigeria Limited is an indigenous Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Logistics (EPCL) contractor providing integrated technical services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The company brings a multidisciplinary team of engineering, inspection, and construction professionals to deliver brownfield and greenfield projects across onshore and offshore facilities, with a focus on asset integrity, tank and vessel upgrades, mechanical and instrumentation works, and terminal automation. Leveraging local content expertise alongside international codes and standards (API, ASME, NACE/AMPP, and IEC), Ereyi Ventures is positioned to execute the Automated Crude Oil Storage Tanks Upgrade and Repair Services at an offshore terminal, combining indigenous capacity with the technical rigour required for safety-critical hydrocarbon storage infrastructure.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Location: Offshore, Delta

Role Objective

Assure the integrity, repair, and safe return to service of pressure vessels and pressure-retaining ancillary equipment within the tank upgrade facilities.

Core Roles and

Responsibilities

• Review and approve repair/alteration plans in accordance with the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) and API 510, including authorization for welding repairs on pressure-retaining components.
• Conduct API 510 in-service inspections, including internal/external visual inspection, thickness surveys, and Fitness-For-Service (API 579) assessments of pressure-retaining equipment.
• Review ASME Section VIII Division 1/2 design calculations, MAWP determinations, and re-rating assessments for any modified pressure equipment.
• Maintain the pressure equipment integrity register and support RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) planning for all pressure-containing components on the project scope.
• Determine inspection intervals, corrosion rates, and remaining life calculations for pressure vessels, coordinating closely with the Metallurgist/Materials Engineer on material degradation mechanisms.
• Interface with the Authorized Inspector (AI) where new fabrication or U-stamp recertification is required, ensuring full ASME code compliance.
• Provide engineering oversight and inspection authority for any pressurized vessels/systems associated with the crude storage and stabilization process (surge vessels, knock-out drums, pressurized crude tanks where applicable).
• Witness hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure testing of repaired or modified pressure vessels and issue formal test certification.

Experience

in oil & gas, with a minimum of five (5) years post-API 510 certification, hands-on chargeable inspection experience.

B.Eng./M.Eng. in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, minimum Second Class Upper — a Master's degree is

Preferred Qualifications

• and will be weighted above Bachelor's-only candidates.
• Minimum six (6) years offshore/marine terminal-specific pressure equipment experience.
• Minimum five (5) documented, independently verifiable pressure vessel repair/re-rating projects led as lead engineer/inspector, each independently verifiable via named, contactable client references.
• Demonstrated, verifiable expert-level working knowledge of ASME Section VIII Division 1 AND Division 2, evidenced by the candidate independently reviewing and critiquing a sample MAWP/re-rating calculation during a live technical interview.
• Valid BOSIET/HUET, offshore medical fitness certificate, and full readiness for extended rotational offshore deployment.
• COREN registration as a full member is mandatory, in addition to membership in ASME as a Professional Member (student/associate membership will not be accepted as meeting this criterion).
• Additional mandatory certification in API 579 Fitness-For-Service at Level 2 or above — Level 1 knowledge alone is insufficient for this role given the criticality of the equipment involved.
• Mandatory, current API 510 (Pressure Vessel Inspector) certification issued by the American Petroleum Institute, with no fewer than twelve (12) months remaining before renewal is due at contract commencement.
• Must pass a rigorous written and practical technical assessment covering ASME Section VIII calculations, API 510 inspection planning, and API 579 FFS Level 1/2 methodology.
