We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to support procurement and purchasing activities for a fast-paced retail environment.
The ideal candidate must have 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably gained within a supermarket, shopping mall, retail store, FMCG, hospitality, or similar fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment.
- Maintain accurate procurement and supplier records.
- Prepare purchase orders, procurement documentation, and related reports.
- Identify and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Support negotiations with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Verify delivered items against purchase orders and specifications.
- Work closely with the Finance, Stores, Inventory, and Operations teams.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Follow up with suppliers on orders, deliveries, pricing, and product availability.
- Assist with sourcing, purchasing, and replenishment of goods, materials, and supplies.
- Obtain and compare quotations to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
Requirements
- Must currently reside in Abuja/FCT.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing, supplier management, inventory, and procurement processes.
- Bachelor's Degree / HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Must have previous experience working in a supermarket, shopping mall, retail business, FMCG, hospitality, or similar environment.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be available to resume immediately.
- 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with figures and records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
