Department: Procurement / Supply Chain
Reports To: Procurement Manager /Supply Chain Manager
Job Summary
Responsible for sourcing and purchasing pharmaceutical raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), packaging materials, equipment, and other operational supplies while ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, quality compliance, and uninterrupted production.
Key Job Responsibilities
Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare periodic procurement reports.
Process purchase requisitions, quotations, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
Ensure suppliers meet company quality standards, GMP requirements, and applicable pharmaceutical regulations.
Procure raw materials, packaging materials, production consumables, and equipment according to production needs.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices and favourable terms.
Control procurement costs and ensure compliance with approved budgets and internal policies.
Monitor inventory levels, delivery schedules, supplier performance, and outstanding orders.
Coordinate with QA, QC, Production, Warehouse, and Finance to ensure timely material availability.
Requirements
- Knowledge of GMP, supplier qualification, and pharmaceutical quality documentation.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or manufacturing industries.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Procurement, Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement or ERP systems.
