Location: Lagos
Job Purpose
To supervise daily production activities and ensure the efficient manufacturing of products in accordance with established quality, safety, and productivity standards.
The incumbent will oversee production operations, monitor manufacturing processes, manage production personnel, and apply chemical knowledge to ensure product consistency and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Operations:
- Minimize production downtime and wastage.
- Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges.
- Coordinate shift activities and ensure smooth handover between shifts.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
- Supervise and coordinate production activities to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing processes, formulations, and operating procedures.
- Process Monitoring & Control:
- Participate in process validation and optimization projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity and reducing costs.
- Investigate process deviations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor critical process parameters to ensure product quality and process efficiency.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, GMP requirements, and company procedures.
- Review production records and ensure accurate documentation.
- Liaise with the Quality Assurance team on product quality issues and corrective actions.
- Monitor in-process quality checks and ensure products meet required specifications.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise production operators and technicians.
- Conduct on-the-job training and coaching for team members.
- Assign duties and monitor employee performance.
- Address employee grievances and escalate issues where necessary.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Health, Safety & Environment:
- Promote safe working practices and the proper use of PPE.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective measures.
- Inventory & Resource Management:
- Coordinate with Stores and Supply Chain teams to prevent material shortages.
- Monitor and report production waste.
- Monitor raw material consumption and production yields.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and utilization of production materials.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Analyze production data and provide recommendations for operational improvements.
- Prepare and submit production reports.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, downtime, quality deviations, and material usage.

Education

Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related science discipline.
At least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
Minimum of 4-7 years'
in a manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG, personal care, food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.
