Job Summary
Support effective project execution through structured planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, project controls, and reporting.
The role will coordinate with internal departments, contractors, vendors and clients on project planning and progress matters, while supporting the Project Manager / Project Lead in keeping projects on schedule and identifying delays, constraints and required recovery actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain progress trackers, action logs, delay registers, risk/constraint logs and other project-control records.
- Review project scope, BOQs, specifications, drawings and deliverables sufficiently to understand activities, dependencies and schedule requirements.
- Coordinate schedule inputs from Engineering, Procurement/Sourcing, Fabrication/Welding, Mechanical, Electrical, Logistics, Site, HSE and QA/QC teams.
- Coordinate with Accounts/Commercial and Procurement teams to ensure project progress, milestones and supporting records are properly documented.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, programmes, work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones and activity plans.
- Support the Project Manager/Project Lead in identifying schedule risks, dependencies, changes and potential impacts on project completion.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor progress against agreed programmes and deliverables.
- Track procurement and delivery activities against project requirements and planned dates, highlighting potential schedule impacts.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, schedule updates, dashboards and management reports.
- Track the critical path and support development of recovery plans where delays occur.
- Participate in project coordination and progress meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
- Maintain accurate project planning and control documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor planned versus actual progress and identify schedule slippage, constraints and critical activities.
- Prepare and update baseline programmes, detailed schedules and look-ahead plans.
- Interact with clients on project schedules, progress updates, planning information, meeting coordination and schedule-related matters, under the direction of the Project Manager/Project Lead.
- Support project close-out by tracking outstanding activities, punch-list items, completion documentation and final deliverables.
- Support preparation of project forecasts, resource plans and progress measurement.
- Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, engineering, construction, fabrication or other industrial project environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain / Procurement or a related technical discipline with 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in project planning, project controls or project coordination.
- PMP, PRINCE2, AACE, PMI-SP or other relevant project-controls certification is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining project schedules and progress reports. • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and project stakeholders.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Good understanding of EPC/Oil & Gas project execution processes.
- Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, BOQs and project deliverables sufficiently for planning and coordination.
- Strong project planning and scheduling skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong documentation and reporting discipline.
- Experience with project planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software is an advantage.
- Ability to identify schedule risks, dependencies and potential delays.
Salary: N350,000 - N500,000 monthly.
