We are looking for a QA Testing Engineer Intern to join our Technology team.
The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of software testing and development processes, strong attention to detail, and an interest in identifying and resolving software defects.
The successful candidate will work closely with developers, product managers and other team members to ensure that software products meet quality and functionality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with test planning and test case development.
- Conduct manual testing to identify bugs, defects and functionality issues.
- Execute test cases and accurately document test results.
- Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
- Perform regression testing following new code changes and product updates.
- Document and maintain QA records and testing reports.
- Log, track and follow up on identified issues using Jira or other issue-tracking tools.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to investigate and resolve identified issues.
- Participate in software development and testing activities within Agile or other development environments.
- Assist with continuous improvement of testing processes and QA practices.
Requirements
Educational Background:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree / HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications, training or practical experience in software testing will be an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of software development processes, including Agile and Waterfall.
Familiarity with manual software testing, including test case execution and documentation.
Exposure to automated testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar tools.
Knowledge of issue-tracking systems, particularly Jira.
Basic understanding of programming concepts and scripting languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
Basic understanding of software quality assurance and testing principles.
Knowledge of databases and SQL is an added advantage.
