Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure controlled SOPs, work instructions, checklists and forms are available and understood by all staff.
- Review temperature logs, goods-received records, stock/storage controls and incident records.
- Record deviations and verify corrective actions.
- Work with Procurement and Store teams on supplier quality, specifications and rejected deliveries.
- Inspect hygiene/PPE and review critical logs.
- Maintain an accurate QA/Safety Inspection Checklist.
- Support incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Maintain audit readiness and coordinate responses to client or regulatory inspections.
- Work with the Head Chef and Kitchen Production Manager to address recipe, quality and process deviations.
- Supervise QA/Safety Officers or designated hygiene/safety representatives, where provided.
- Conduct scheduled and spot inspections of the canteen, kitchen, store, service and support areas.
- Coordinate food-safety, hygiene, emergency and safety training for all canteen staff.
- Identify non-conformities, assign corrective actions and follow through to closure.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, portion consistency and customer complaints.
- Observe food handling and conduct spot checks.
- Monitor personal hygiene, PPE, handwashing, cleaning and sanitation compliance.
- Ensure and enforce strict adherence to the canteen and kitchen QA, food-safety and safety-control programme.
- Verify cleaning schedules and corrective actions.
- Escalate serious food-safety, hygiene or workplace-safety risks immediately.
- Escalate urgent risks without delay.
- Conduct opening/shift compliance checks for all staff.
- Trend complaints, incidents, non-conformities, wastage and recurring quality failures, and recommend preventive actions.
- Verify critical food-safety controls including receiving, storage, preparation, cooking, holding and service temperatures.
- Maintain proper documentation of Temperature Logs, Cleaning Verification, Incident Reports, Corrective Action Log, Training Records, Supplier/Delivery Quality Checks, Complaint Trend Report, and Audit/Inspection Reports.
- Minimum Qualifications / Experience
- Relevant food-safety/HSE training (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is a major advantage.
- Experience in a high-standard client environment (e.g., multinational factory) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 1–3 years' relevant experience in food safety, quality assurance or hygiene management
- Practical catering/industrial canteen experience is highly preferred

- Degree/HND in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Environmental Health, Safety or a related field.
