Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic, disciplined, and proactive Male Runner to join our dining operations team.
You will maintain strict operational standards, assist with floor setup and side-station maintenance, and uphold safety, hygiene, and service protocols.
In this role, you will act as the crucial link between the kitchen and the dining floor, ensuring that food orders are delivered to guest tables swiftly, accurately, and at the perfect serving temperature.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Serve dishes accurately according to seat numbers and luxury service protocols, maintaining proper plate placement, temperature standards, and presentation.
Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) regarding guest dietary restrictions and severe food allergies, ensuring clear verification with kitchen staff prior to serving.
Assist waitstaff with pre-service preparation (
mise en place
) and side-station stocking, maintaining a continuous supply of polished cutlery, water carafes, clean trays, and linens.
Verify every order against kitchen display systems or tickets before leaving the kitchen to ensure accuracy, special request compliance, and complete order fulfillment.
Coordinate seamlessly with the Head Chef, Expo, Head Waiter, and floor waitstaff to retrieve completed dishes from the kitchen pass and deliver them to correct guest tables without delay.
Maintain a pristine and safe dining environment by wiping down service stations, clearing food debris, and ensuring any floor spills are dried immediately to eliminate hazards.
Assist in clearing empty plates, glassware, and silver utensils from tables promptly and quietly, keeping dining areas clean and uncluttered.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Exceptional physical stamina, agility, and pace; ability to carry heavy trays, stand, and move continuously throughout high-volume service hours.
Gender: Male.
Good understanding of culinary items, table numbering systems, and basic food allergy safety procedures.
lear verbal communication, strong listening skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) / WAEC / NECO.
Must reside within or in close proximity to the Maitama area, Abuja (for shift flexibility and easy commuting) and willingly for work flexible shift (day and night).
Minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Food Runner, Commis Waiter, or Busser in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or fine dining establishment.
Starting Salary
N80,000 / month with Accomodation.
