Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting the property, monitoring movement in and out of the premises, maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or security concerns.
We are seeking a responsible, alert and reliable Security Officer to join our team and provide effective security and access control at our property in Old GRA, Port Harcourt.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform other reasonable security-related duties assigned by management.
- Monitor the premises for suspicious behaviour, unauthorized access or unusual activity.
- Monitor activities around the premises and remain attentive throughout working hours.
- Monitor and control access to the premises.
- Assist in enforcing property rules and regulations.
- Follow all security procedures and instructions provided by management.
- Conduct regular checks of the property and surrounding areas.
- Protect company property, equipment, facilities and guest belongings from theft, damage or unauthorized access.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents or emergencies.
- Ensure doors, gates and other access points are properly secured when required.
- Ensure that the security post and surrounding area are kept orderly and professional.
- Maintain proper communication with management and other staff regarding security matters.
- Keep accurate records of visitors, incidents and relevant activities.
- Verify visitors, guests, staff and other individuals entering or leaving the property where necessary.
- Report suspicious activities, security breaches, damages or incidents immediately to the supervisor/management.
- Maintain a strong security presence around the property at all times.
Requirements
Must have good communication skills.
Must be physically fit, alert and observant.
Must be available to resume immediately.
Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude while on duty.
Must be responsible, disciplined and trustworthy.
Previous experience as a Security Officer, Security Guard, Hotel Security or similar role is an advantage.
Must be able to respond appropriately during emergencies.
Must be able to remain attentive and focused during working hours.
Must be punctual and dependable.
Must be willing to work according to the assigned duty schedule.
Must be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Must be comfortable interacting respectfully with guests, staff and visitors.
Personal Qualities:

Is reliable and maintains good attendance.
Is observant and pays attention to details.
Does not abandon their duty post without authorization.
Can be trusted with the responsibility of protecting people and property.

Salary: N80,000 / month.
