Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Review financial data and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial transactions.
- Maintain proper accounting records and documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls.
- Perform bank, supplier, customer, and other account reconciliations.
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff where applicable.
- Provide management with financial insights to support business decisions.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
- Oversee daily accounting and financial transactions.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
Experience with reconciliations, financial statements, budgeting, and tax compliance.
High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Good communication and organisational skills.
BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a senior accounting role.
Salary: N500,000 - N600,000 per month.
