Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant's power generation systems, while providing guidance and support to junior generator operators and coordinating with maintenance and technical teams.

We are seeking an experienced, competent, safety-conscious, and responsible Senior Generator Operator to oversee the operation and monitoring of diesel and gas-powered generator sets within our manufacturing facility.

Good understanding of generator control panels, protection systems, alarms, and operating parameters.
Must be willing to relocate to Ibeju-Lekki.

Salary: N243,000 per month (Net Salary).

Key Responsibilities

- Identify alarms, abnormal readings, unusual noise/vibration, overheating, leaks, and other equipment problems.
- Perform other duties related to plant power generation and utility operations as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, electrical/mechanical safety, fire safety, and safe diesel/gas handling requirements.
- Ensure generators operate within recommended limits and maintain proper load distribution.
- Monitor fuel and gas consumption and report abnormal consumption, leaks, or supply problems.
- Monitor key parameters including RPM, voltage, frequency, current/load, temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage, fuel level, and other relevant readings.
- Lead and supervise Junior Generator Operators during routine and emergency operations.
- Carry out first-level troubleshooting and coordinate with electrical/mechanical maintenance teams when intervention is required.
- Operate and monitor diesel and gas generators according to operating procedures and manufacturer recommendations.
- Perform and oversee generator start-up, synchronization, loading, unloading, changeover, and shutdown.
- Support generator servicing, preventive maintenance, planned shutdowns, emergency power operations, and power restoration.
- Report equipment defects, operational risks, and safety hazards promptly.
- Maintain accurate operating logs covering running hours, load, consumption, alarms, faults, and shutdowns.
- Conduct routine inspections of generators, control panels, fuel/gas systems, cooling systems, batteries, exhaust systems, and associated equipment.
- Guide and support Junior Operators and ensure routine checks, housekeeping, and operational records are completed.
