We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Registrar in Radiology to join our medical team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services, participate in clinical care, and contribute to the training and supervision of junior medical staff.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and radiology reports.
- Participate in departmental audits, research, quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development.
- Assist in the diagnosis and management of patients through accurate and timely radiological reporting.
- Collaborate effectively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, ultrasound, CT and MRI, as appropriate to level of training and competence.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews and clinical discussions.
- Support the implementation of best practices and contribute to the overall efficiency of the Radiology Department.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior residents, medical officers and other trainees.
- Participate in radiology call duties, emergency imaging and departmental clinical activities.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards, infection prevention protocols and hospital policies.
Requirements
- Education:
- Postgraduate qualification in Radiology/Radiodiagnosis or evidence of relevant postgraduate training.
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognised institution.
- Current registration and a valid practising licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Experience in a hospital or diagnostic imaging setting is required.
- Relevant postgraduate experience in Radiology/Radiodiagnosis.
- Experience working with CT, MRI, ultrasound and conventional radiography will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision, teaching, audit or research is desirable.
- Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid practising licence.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays and on-call duties when required.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity and commitment to high-quality patient care.
