Job Purpose
Why does the job exist?
To Operate and Control Mixing activities of production processes in Finishing Plant
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to Production Supervisor and Technician
Dimensions:
Ensure compliance to all Business Unit SOP’s and SOC’s (Standard Operating Conditions) and that all operations comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), all safety standards and provisions.
Escalate issues to get prompt attention whenever necessary.
Customer Satisfaction
Return on Investment
Understands roles and responsibilities and the importance of conformity with the EMS requirements.
Start machine to mix materials and allowing them to mix for a specified time.
Performing other tasks and activities as could be delegated by his supervisor.
Strategic Alliances with different institutions
Stop mixing machine when specified product qualities are obtained, and open valves to transfer mixtures.
Turn Around Time
Examine materials and products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
Clean and maintain equipment and other housekeeping activities.
Record operational and production data on specified forms.
Ensure investigation and correction of deviations in process behaviour.
Responsible for tending equipment such as mixer, weigher and conveyors to move materials through production processes.
Implements and complies with EMS requirements relating to environmental aspects and impacts and other policies, procedures and/or regulations applicable to assigned jobs.
Read batch cards to determine production information and specifications.
Principal Accountabilities:
To work with the maintenance manager doing LLF and PPM to continually improve machine availability
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Typical decisions made and if they are advisory or directly responsible for the outcome
List in priority order, if possible, typically 8-10
To work closely as a team with other shift-based leaders to prioritise shift activity and deliver plant targets
To work with the production manager continually to improve plant performance while adhering to legislative and company standards
Good knowledge of how to identify areas for improvement (Process, skills, knowledge, attitude, machine etc)
Elimination/Reduction of downtime due to machine break down
The key outputs of the job
To work with the Shift supervisor continually to improve plant performance while adhering to legislative and company standards.
Any requirement for organizing & planning including own work and the allocation of resources
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Facilitate effective problem solving through agreed Lean Manufacturing techniques and generate Containments and Counter measures.

Monitors Business Unit area performance through Short Interval Control; daily and weekly OEE tracker, identification of the 3 top losses and facilitate review of same.

Key Activities:
Achieve 95% compliance with behaviour-based safety (BBS) walk around.
Achieve 85% of action closure arising from monthly HSE inspection.
To be aware of the hazards in the workplace within his control, and the control measures to reduce the risk associated with those hazards.
Enviromental Management System (EMS) Objectives:
Key Activities:
Implements and complies with EMS requirements relating to environmental aspects and impacts and other policies, procedures and /or regulations applicable to assigned jobs.
Understand roles and responsibilities and the importance of conformity with the EMS requirements.
Quality And Plan Compliance Delivery: GMP
Key Activities:
Ensure that manufacturing operation meets stipulated GMP
Key Accountability:
To have a good knowledge of GMP requirements and application on site in line with GMP standard (PZC GMP standard/NAFDAC requirements)
Quality Management System (QMS) Objectives

Key Accountability:
To ensure the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) and improve on the system.
Internal And External Relationships
To work closely as a team with the Line Manager and other leaders as to deliver set objectives
To work with other staff continually to improve performance while adhering to legislative and company standards.
Required Qualifications
NABTEB/ND in Engineering Related Discipline
Required Experience:
Minimum of 1 year work experience in a similar position
Software Knowledge
Sound Knowledge of Engineering Practices
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to withstand stress and work under pressure
Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills
