The Spare Parts Officer is responsible for managing the availability, storage, issuance, and proper documentation of spare parts and technical components.
The role ensures that spare parts are accurately recorded, properly stored, readily available for repairs and maintenance, and efficiently controlled to minimize stock losses and downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor fast-moving, slow-moving, and obsolete spare parts.
- Ensure spare parts are stored under appropriate conditions to prevent damage or deterioration.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized spare parts store.
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming spare parts and accessories.
- Investigate and report discrepancies, damages, shortages, or obsolete parts.
- Support the service team by ensuring critical spare parts are available when required.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile physical quantities with system records.
- Liaise with Procurement, Warehouse, Finance, and Technical teams to ensure timely availability of required parts.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, storage, and organization of spare parts.
- Maintain accurate records of spare parts received, issued, returned, and transferred.
- Maintain proper documentation for all spare parts transactions.
- Assist in preparing periodic inventory and stock movement reports.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when items reach minimum stock levels.
- Issue spare parts to technicians and service personnel based on approved requests.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and inventory control procedures.
