Job Summary

The Station Manager is responsible for the overall management, profitability, and operational performance of the retail service station.

The role oversees daily station operations, ensures the achievement of sales and financial targets, manages employees, maintains optimal inventory levels, enforces Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards, and ensures exceptional customer service.

The Station Manager is accountable for ensuring the station operates efficiently, complies with company policies and regulatory requirements, and delivers sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Station Operations Management:
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor station facilities, pumps, tanks, generators, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with company operational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement operational plans to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and retail merchandise.
  • Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the station.
  • Sales and Business Performance:
  • Develop initiatives to increase fuel and non-fuel sales.
  • Drive the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Monitor daily sales performance and profitability.
  • Identify business opportunities to improve station revenue.
  • Ensure effective merchandising and product availability.
  • Financial and Cash Management:
  • Review and approve daily sales and reconciliation reports.
  • Monitor operational expenses and implement cost-control measures.
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper financial controls and adherence to cash handling procedures.
  • Oversee daily cash collections, banking, and reconciliations.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate fuel stock monitoring and reconciliation.
  • Approve stock requests and coordinate timely replenishment.
  • Oversee inventory management for lubricants, LPG, convenience store items, and other products.
  • Minimize stock losses, product wastage, and shrinkage.
  • Leadership and People Management:
  • Enforce company policies, discipline, and performance standards.
  • Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate staffing.
  • Foster teamwork, accountability, and a high-performance culture.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop station personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate station employees to achieve operational excellence.
  • Customer

Experience

Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and professional service.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming station environment.

Build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.

Resolve customer complaints and service issues promptly.

Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE):

Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Ensure full compliance with all HSSE policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.

Ensure firefighting equipment and emergency systems are functional.

Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.

Compliance and Administration:

Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.

Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly management reports.

Maintain accurate operational, financial, inventory, and personnel records.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and government requirements.

Stakeholder Management:

Maintain effective communication with the Area Manager and Head Office.

Represent the station professionally in all business engagements.

Liaise with suppliers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders.
