Job Summary
We are seeking a responsible, organized, and detail-oriented Store In-Charge to oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's store/warehouse.
The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of inventory management, stock control procedures, and warehouse operations, with a strong focus on accuracy, accountability, and proper documentation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, receiving and issuing materials, ensuring proper storage and organization of stock, supervising store personnel, and providing timely inventory reports to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Control:
- Monitor stock levels and ensure adequate availability of materials and goods.
- Identify stock shortages, excesses, damaged items, and discrepancies and report them promptly.
- Record and track all incoming and outgoing stock accurately.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile physical quantities with inventory records.
- Ensure proper documentation for all stock receipts and issues.
- Monitor stock movement to prevent loss, misuse, or unauthorized issuance.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records and stock registers.
- Stock Organization & Storage:
- Ensure all materials and goods are properly labeled, tagged, and stored.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and easily accessible store/warehouse.
- Ensure materials are stored appropriately according to their nature and handling requirements.
- Maintain proper segregation of damaged, expired, rejected, or obsolete stock.
- Implement and maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures where applicable.
- Ensure store operations comply with relevant safety and housekeeping requirements.
- Receiving & Vendor Coordination:
- Inspect delivered goods for visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Receive incoming deliveries and verify quantities and specifications against approved Purchase Orders, delivery notes, and other relevant documents.
- Ensure all received items are properly documented, labeled, and stored.
- Report incorrect, damaged, or incomplete deliveries to Procurement and Management promptly.
- Coordinate with suppliers, procurement personnel, and other relevant departments regarding delivery issues.
- Stock Issuance & Internal Support:
- Maintain accurate records of all stock issued to departments and production operations.
- Support Production, Maintenance, Procurement, and other departments with timely material availability.
- Issue materials, equipment, and other items only against approved requisitions or authorized requests.
- Ensure proper authorization and documentation before releasing stock.
- Monitor frequently used materials and communicate replenishment

- Staff Supervision:
- Train and guide store staff on proper handling, storage, documentation, and safety procedures.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
- Monitor staff attendance, productivity, discipline, and adherence to store procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of store/warehouse assistants and other store personnel.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and proper care of company inventory.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain records of goods received, goods issued, stock balances, and adjustments.
- Prepare daily stock movement and inventory reports for Management.
- Ensure all store documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
- Provide management with timely information on inventory levels and replenishment requirements.
- Prepare reports on stock shortages, damaged goods, slow-moving items, and other inventory concerns.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to minimize damage and workplace hazards.
- Follow company policies and procedures relating to inventory, security, safety, and warehouse operations.
- Report safety hazards, losses, damages, and other irregularities immediately.
- Ensure the store is maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

Experience
OND, HND, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Inventory Management, or a related field.
Good numerical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
using stock/inventory management systems or basic inventory software is an advantage.
Previous
supervising store or warehouse personnel is an advantage.
2–4 years of relevant
in stores, inventory, warehouse, or stock management.
Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
Good understanding of stock control, FIFO, goods receiving, and stock issuance procedures.
