Job Title: Store Manager, Receiving
Location: Gboko Plant, Benue
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Store Manager, receiving to lead and manage all receiving activities at DCP Gboko Plant to ensure timely, safe, and accurate receipt, inspection and documentation of incoming materials, spare parts, and consumables in line with Dangote cement policies, HSE standard and stores procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor supplier performance on delivery accuracy and timeliness and provide input to purchase/procurement.
Immediately flag and manage non-conformances, shortages, overages and damaged goods; coordinate with procurement, Quality Assurance and Logistics to resolve issues.
Ensure safe use of material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes); ensure any equipment defects are reported and operations paused where safety is compromised.
Coordinate inbound vehicle scheduling with logistics to minimize congestion and demurrage.
Ensure physical inspection of deliveries against purchase orders, packing lists and delivery notes for quantity and quality.
Maintain clean, secure and organized receiving bay and documentation filling system.
Manage receiving staff: rostering, training, performance management and disciplinary matters.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of receipts into ERP/WMS and paper record; prepare GRNs (Goods Received Notes) and transfer to relevant teams.
Supervise day-to-day receiving operations: offloading, checking, inspection, weighing, and acceptance of materials.
Support cycle counts and inventory audits; provide receiving records and reconciliation reports promptly.
Control and oversee quarantine area for suspect or damaged material; follow disposal/return procedures when required.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor`s Degree (B.Sc./HND) in supply chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering or related field.
- Working knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (experience with SAP or Oracle is advantage).
- 10+years’ experience in warehouse/stores receiving operations in heavy industry, manufacturing or cement sector; 2+ years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Skills And Competencies:
- Basic technical understanding of material specification and handling requirements.
- Good interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple inbound activities.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Leadership, people management and coaching skills.
