This role is not limited to grants. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, develop them, coordinate projects, chase deliverables and ensure important initiatives move from idea to completion.

We are seeking a proactive, highly organized and execution-focused Strategic Projects & Opportunities Coordinator to work closely with the Executive Director across the school, multiple businesses, projects and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Opportunity Research & Pipeline Development:
  • Research organizations, companies, foundations and institutions that may provide funding, partnerships or project opportunities.
  • Research and identify new opportunities, including grants, partnerships, sponsorships, programmes, tenders, collaborations, competitions, funding opportunities and strategic projects.
  • Identify ways existing projects or businesses can access new markets, partnerships, funding or other strategic opportunities.
  • Continuously search for opportunities relevant to the school and other businesses of the organization.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of projects and opportunities.
  • Proposal Development & Business Development:
  • Draft and rewrite proposals, concept notes, grant applications, partnership proposals, presentations, letters and project documents.
  • Coordinate information from Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Academics, Communications and other departments where required.
  • Support partnership development and external outreach.
  • Develop ideas into structured proposals and executable projects.
  • Support preparation of submissions, applications and business cases.
  • Project Coordination & Execution:
  • Track progress across active projects and provide regular updates.
  • Ensure every assigned project has clear next steps and does not disappear after meetings.
  • Coordinate projects assigned by the Executive Director from beginning to completion.
  • Maintain organized documentation for every project and opportunity.
  • Create project plans, timelines, action items, owners and deliverables.
  • Coordinate meetings, documentation and follow-up relating to projects.
  • Follow-Up, Accountability & Risk Management:
  • Ensure projects do not remain unfinished because people failed to follow through.
  • Identify project delays, risks and blockers early.
  • Chase internal and external stakeholders for outstanding work.
  • Ensure commitments and agreed actions are completed.
  • Escalate issues requiring executive intervention.
  • Follow up persistently on deadlines and deliverables.
  • Research, Innovation & Strategic Support:
  • Identify opportunities for new projects, partnerships, funding, markets and collaborations.
  • Suggest practical ways to improve, grow or create value through new opportunities and initiatives.
  • Research new programmes, technologies, services and ideas that could improve the school or other businesses.
  • Research organizations, companies, foundations and institutions relevant to potential opportunities.
  • Support the Executive Director in developing strategic initiatives and turning ideas into executable projects.
  • Technology, AI & Productivity:
  • Use technology intelligently to improve the speed, quality and organization of project execution.
  • Continuously identify better ways to track opportunities, manage projects and improve recurring workflows.
  • Use AI tools and digital productivity tools for research, writing, analysis, documentation and project coordination.
