Job Title: Structural Designer – Junior / Intermediate / Senior
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Job Purpose
To prepare and develop structural drawings and design documentation for oil and gas, industrial, offshore and onshore projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support preparation of material take-offs and structural schedules.
- Participate in site surveys and field verification where required.
- Develop structural drawings using appropriate CAD/3D design software.
- Maintain drawing revisions and design documentation.
- Coordinate structural designs with piping, mechanical, civil and other disciplines.
- Incorporate design changes and engineering comments into drawings.
- Develop structural layouts, plans, elevations, sections and fabrication drawings.
- Prepare steelwork, platforms, supports, structures and related details.
- Prepare structural drawings and details from engineering design information.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and applicable codes and standards.
- Interpret structural engineering calculations, specifications and design information.
- Typical Requirements
- Junior:
- Basic knowledge of structural drawings and CAD.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- OND / HND / B.Sc./B.Tech. in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Intermediate:
- Experience preparing structural layouts and fabrication drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or relevant structural design software.
- Relevant structural design experience.
- Senior:
- Experience coordinating structural design with other engineering disciplines.
- Ability to independently produce and review structural design deliverables.
- Extensive structural design experience in oil & gas, offshore, industrial or construction projects.
