Job Summary
The Senior QS will play a critical role in managing all cost-related aspects of interior design and fit-out projects, from inception through to project completion and handover.
This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Lagos.
Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, measurements, and valuations.
- Develop and update cost benchmarks and historical data for future interior design projects in Lagos and Nigeria.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Engage with clients to provide cost advice, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on budgets and project scope
- Provide senior management with clear insights on cost risks, budget performance, and financial exposure
- Manage relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable delivery
- Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, and dispute resolution with external parties
- Ensure transparency and accountability across all stakeholders on cost-related decisions
- Work closely with project, design, and procurement teams to balance design intent with cost efficiency
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and consultants on all commercial and contractual matters, including the
- financial implications of design or scope changes
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Provide cost advice to the design team during concept, schematic, and detailed design stages to ensure budget alignment
- Present cost reports and financial updates confidently in project meetings and to senior management.
- Work closely with Finance, Design, Procurement teams and Project Associates to align cost and delivery
Experience
& Qualifications
Strong
in cost estimation, contract administration, and procurement
Minimum of 5–8 years’
in quantity surveying, preferably in interior design, construction, or fit-out projects with at least 4 years at a senior level.
Professional certification (NIQS, RICS, or equivalent) is an advantage
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
Familiarity with local market pricing, suppliers, and subcontractors in Lagos
Skills & Attributes:
Proficiency in relevant software (Excel, cost estimation tools, ERP systems is a plus).
Proactive, Commercial awareness and solution-oriented mindset.
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong understanding of interior design drawings, specifications, and material schedules.
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Strong negotiation and cost control mindset
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
