Job Title: Technical Instructor - Mechanical
Location: Obajana Plant, Kogi
Job Summary
The Ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality technical education and vocational training to our students/trainees, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge in mechanical technology in line with the approved national occupational standard by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Mechanical Technical Instructor to join our team at the Dangote Cement Plc.
This in-person position requires a hands-on approach to teaching and a commitment to student success.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program development initiatives
Implementation of other related tasks as may be assigned by the Centre manager or other superior persons.
Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure continuous research work and adopt the use of cohesive educational experience across all training programs
Provide hands-on instruction in labs and classrooms, fostering a practical learning environment
Support students in understanding complex electrical concepts, troubleshooting techniques, and safety protocols
Evaluate student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes
Assist in the development and delivery of curriculum for mechanical technology courses, ensuring alignment with approved curriculum/ standards
Management of training tools and laboratory equipment and updating of the Dangote Academy workshop inventory list for both tools and consumables.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree / HND or it's equivalent in Mechanical Engineering from reputable Institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of field experience in Mechanical system handling, plus any additional experience in mentoring, teaching or tutoring.
- Strong understanding of mechaniical principles, systems, and safety standards and use of equipment
