We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Treasury Officer
Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Purpose
The role ensures optimal cash flow management, efficient deposit mobilization, mitigation of financial risks (interest rate and liquidity risks), and adherence to regulatory capital and liquidity requirements.
The Treasury Officer is responsible for managing the Company's liquidity, funding operations, asset-liability management (ALM), and investment activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Liquidity & Cash Flow Management:
Monitor bank account balances, perform bank account management, and optimize cash balances across clearing and settlement accounts.
Maintain adequate statutory and operational liquidity buffers in compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and internal risk thresholds.
Manage daily cash positions and forecast daily/weekly liquidity needs to ensure smooth operational disbursements and loan funding.
Funding & Deposit Mobilization:
Structure investment and deposit products (Fixed Deposits, Target Savings, Notes) to minimize the company's overall cost of funds.
Maintain strong relationship management with commercial banks, financial institutions, and money market counterparties.
Drive corporate, institutional, and high-net-worth individual (HNWI) deposit mobilization initiatives to support funding needs.
Asset-Liability Management (ALM) & Investments:
Execute treasury investments in money market instruments, Treasury Bills, placements, and government securities to optimize yields on surplus funds.
Monitor Asset-Liability Mismatches (ALM), interest rate sensitivity, and maturity gaps to safeguard financial stability.
Prepare and present comprehensive treasury reports, interest rate analysis, and yield schedules for the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO).
Reporting, Compliance & Risk Management:
Reconcile daily treasury transactions, yield computations, and settlement activity with Finance and Operations teams.
Identify and mitigate market, counterparty, interest rate, and foreign exchange risks.
Ensure complete compliance with CBN, NIBSS, and financial regulatory requirements regarding liquidity ratios and capital adequacy.
Person Specification
General Education:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Professional Qualification:
Professional certification (e.g., ACI Treasury, CFA, ACCA, ICAN) is an added advantage.
Experience
Strong knowledge of Nigerian macroeconomic indicators, fixed-income markets, and interest rate dynamics.
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in treasury management, money market trading, or asset-liability management within a financial institution.
In-depth understanding of money market instruments, yield computations, ALM frameworks, and CBN treasury regulations.
Key Competencies:
Strong negotiation skills for pricing deposits, placements, and institutional funds.
Exceptional financial analysis, quantitative modeling, and liquidity forecasting skills.
Uncompromising integrity and ethical behavior in managing company funds.
Meticulous accuracy in financial calculations and treasury settlement operations.
Excellent reporting, presentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
